Frequently asked questions

Q – Can a Wrapmaster dispenser be cleaned in the dishwasher?
A – Yes, a Wrapmaster is designed to withstand commercial dishwasher temperatures.

Q – Can I use any refill rolls in the Wrapmaster dispenser?
A – No, only genuine Wrapmaster refill rolls can be used.

Q – Can I use cling film in the microwave?
A – Yes, providing the cling film does not come into direct contact with the food. It’s great for use as a lidding agent – covering containers and reheating plated meals. For best results place film over container, pierce or turn back corner of film to allow steam to escape.

Q – Can I use cling film in the freezer?
A – Yes. It’s ideal for separating small items such as fish, chops, steaks, burgers, cakes etc. before overwrapping into storage bags or boxes, so they can be removed individually. It won’t cling very well, once it comes out of the freezer.

Q – Is cling film safe to use?
A – All our cling films meet EU set levels for migration, however PVC cling film should not be used for wrapping high fat foods, (products like lard, butter, cheese, fish). For high fat foods we recommend using our all purpose, (PE), cling film.

Q – What is the difference between PVC and PE Film?
A – PVC is the film of choice for the majority of professional caterers as it has the best cling properties and is suitable for 95% of all food use. PE film lacks the cling properties of PVC cling film and is suitable for wrapping high fat foods such as lard, butter, cheese and fish.

Q – Can I use catering foil in the freezer?
A – Catering foil is easy to mould around food and its strength and thickness will keep food fresh when stored in a freezer or fridge. Non-stick foil is ideal for use in the freezer it provides greater protection against freezer burn and there is no need to prise frozen foods apart.

Q – What can baking parchment be used for?
A – Baking parchment is suitable for a variety of applications, but is ideal for baking all types of cakes, biscuits, meringues and soufflé. There is no need to grease cake tins, baking sheets or baking parchment itself. Baking parchment can also be used for making icing bags. It can be used in the microwave for individual portions and in the freezer for separating portions prior to freezing.

Q – Can baking parchment be used in the oven?
A – Yes, baking parchment can be used in the microwave and also conventional ovens to temperatures up to 220°C.
